| | | test thread Having read the rather long (interesting) HHO thread, there's something rather irresistibly challenging I guess in the watching of others trying to solve intractable problems - rather like watching someone else untangle a bad knot - we have the urge to try ourselves!
Anyway, the transport fuel problem - thought I'd throw this one into the mix:
Rather than trying to find ways of modifying conventional transport road vehicles how about moving into the realms of something altogether different - start from scratch so to speak ....

Could we develop domestic road safe hovercar vehicles fueled by kinetic energy ...?
Sort of along the lines of a hybrid hovercraft:
Installation of kinetic plates into road surfaces
-> kinetic energy created by motion of a vehicle on surface and stored in fuel cells with chargers
--> hybrid hover vehicles with 'roller-contact' drop down mechanism to allow craft to recharge whilst in motion from the road fuel cells attached to the kinetic plates
--> Charged hovercar now has onboard fuel supply to energise fan system used to lift and thrust hover technology of hybrid vehicle for cruising
----> As the fuel cell depletes in cruising, craft moves to roller system, 'lands' back on road surface for recharging
(alternatively, kinetic energy could be redirected to fueling stations and vehicles could top up their fan fuel cells at the kinetic energy garage!)
And there you go! Entirely sustainable mode of transport once all the development and installation is complete! (ok full of holes but not completely unrealistic - we already have hovercraft technology
and a Uk supermarket apparently is now using kinetic plates to fuel their checkout tills, charged with the motion of cars driving through their parking lots!)
Any other hair brained schemes - after all, creative and lateral thinking may well be the thrust that is needed |

Damn those who invented the internal combustion engine, aeroplanes, etc.....oh and the wheel
