This is what makes my blood boil! This has happened a couple of times - I'm doing 70, in the inside lane, when I see a car in my rear view mirror hurtling towards me at break neck speed and then he slams his brakes on, glares at me and sits on my backside for the next few miles? Confusing, especially as there is nothing in the outside lane?? It's really scarey!!

| | | Re: Hyper Miling I used to live near Budleigh Salterton, delightful place but not the abode of many racing drivers. Parking spaces are sparse, and a friend asked someone to reverse their car a little to leave another space (very politely, he was, and looked to be, a gentleman).
"Young man, I have been driving for 35 years and I have never needed to use reverse gear. I have no intention of using it now". Again, said very nicely but rather distantly.
I bet their fuel consumption was low, and their average speed. |

| | | Re: Hyper Miling I Drive an average 40000 miles a year commuting and work related. But I suffer with Scyiatica in my right leg. I find using cruise control a lot helps me to stay in an easier driving posture.
I now drive leaving a slightly larger gap to the car in front than most people , I drive 80% of the time out of town on cruise control. Because of this I brake and accelerate far less often and feel much less stressed than I used to I also have found that my fuel consumption has improved by between 10%and 15%. Try it,,,
