| | | air powered cars!! gets my vote if i lived in town id get one well the title says it all really BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Five-seat concept car runs on air
I think we need to think about the way we view a car and a low level of luxuries for a town car seems like a great idea.
any comments? |

I can see the crash safety aspects might be a problem. The structure required to make the car and passengers safe will probably weigh a lot. Having said that if all cars were light weight it wouldn't be so much of a problem. I would buy one, sounds perfect for around town journeys

There's the comedown that you'll need to use energy to compress the air but even that could be produced using hydroelectricity or, indeed, using water power to do the actual compression .... I'll buy a few shares in that! |

and the car looking kinda ugly.

| | | Re: air powered cars!! gets my vote if i lived in town id get one Hi,
My first thought is great idea if it works, or is it another free electricity con, I certainly hope it's not silent you won't hear it until you've been squashed quite flat.
If it has to be stripped of all luxuries for weight it seems it will be somewhat slow, will make you feel like you're in a Sinclair C5, dangerous for it's driver, still pulling away after the lights have gone red and the others gone green and there you are, stuck in the middle.
Max.
