| | | Re: Water Powered Cars & Planes iT looks as though the cap is £1,200 or 30% of cost if lower - mind you this is for each microgeneration instalation (and varies according to type) so if you have a heatpump installed powerd by pvs you can get 1,200 towards the heat pump plus 2,500 (or 50% cost) towards the PVs

Geothermal energy is another source that can and should be developed further but it's likely to stay much closer to the surface. Getting to depths measured in kilometers is far too expensive and uses to much energy in cutting through bedrock.
Dave P. | Sorry should have explained it. It varies considerably with rock type - The granite intrusion that is the mound dartmoor is on for example is a lot warmer closer to the surface. The initial outlay is great but the maintenance and fact there is no fuel would counter act this. At least I would save more CO2 than produced making it like wind turbines. |

They still hold, despite interesting theories and charlatans of recent years.
If someone has worked out a way of countermanding these, then they will be gods ....literally !!
Zeroth: You must play the game. (It's the only game in town)
First: You can't win. (that is, you cannot get something for nothing, because matter and energy are conserved)
Second: You can't break even. (you cannot return to the same energy state, because there is always an increase in disorder; entropy always increases)
Third: You can't quit the game. (because absolute zero is unattainable) |

| | | Re: Water Powered Cars & Planes you really want to save the environment? ok here goes... this is something i will only tell you once... so listen closely, research if you feel necessary, disagree if you wish, but know i will not argue...
transmission of electricity along raised copper wiring (eg. through pylons) wastes >90% as heat
localised energy generation would solve the worlds fuel problem in no time... cut carbon emissions by 30-40% and reduce energy generation requirements by 60%
this would allow for cars to be powered by electricity without ramping up huge leccy bills and increasing C02 emmisions anyway....
high density lithium-ion batteries set in an array with a current boosting magnetic coil would allow car motors to run for long periods at nominal speeds (60kph) ideal for inner and city to city travel.
money saved on petrol would be used to improve public transport for longer journeys and aircraft and long haul lorries can continue to use kerosene which petrol can be turned into via a process known as cracking and diesel by recycling waste food oil into bio-diesel.
think it over.... with the initial cost however... no-one is willing to foot the bill... even though the money would be re-couped in very short time...

Good god, even if there was an alien craft in Area 51 is a Toyota Prius the best they could do. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
