| | | Carbon Trust Survey Has your company had a Carbon Trust Survey? Energy consultants are currently carrying out Carbon Trust Surveys throughout the UK. If your company or organisation (includes factories, schools, councils etc - virtually anything) spends more than £50,000 on energy then it's probably eligible for a carbon trust survey to identify no-cost or low-cost ways to save energy and money.
Most carbon trust surveys include a complete run through of all of the organisation's areas of energy use; from lighting and heating to manufacturing technology and process management. The surveys are free and can often lead to more free/subsidised work as well as interest-free loans to implement changes by new technology etc.
Make sure your employer knows about them and contact the carbon trust for more info

| | | Re: Carbon Trust Surveys worth doing for free, I got them in for my Company, but they don't really tell you anything that you don't already know!
What they do tell you is that you really ought to do something about it, and become more profitable as well as greener. Funny how the gaffer then accepts that he should have listened to you in the first place.

follows us around turning out lights which we need on, and when going into a room and then into a store the lights go out behind us!!

| | | Rhetoric My organisation has appointed "Green Experts" in each dept/building who apparently look at making each dept more energy efficient (no one seems to know who they are though...). But it's just rhetoric, as if I'm working late I find all the lights on and hundreds of monitors still turned on in empty offices. I try to do my bit and turn some lights off as I pass, but I discovered the other day that if you turn some monitors off, it's such a novelty that people can't turn them on and call out the I.T dept! .. Which speaks volumes really. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
