| | | Re: Fuel Saving Tips for Cars A quick look around the company car park at tyre wear indicates that
many people have under inflated tyres (wear on both edges centre
tread less worn) and many cars seem to be in need of a service/tune up
based on poor starting when leaving and smoking exhausts on cars arriving (these have driven around twenty miles)
How is your car?

The fuel saving technology is a 3 stage, solid state, slow release additive system performing the following functions:
CLEANSING AGENT
This softens the Carbon and varnish deposits in the engine. The treated deposits are then either burnt and ejected during the combustion process or carried by the engine oil and deposited in the sump. The length of time it takes to thoroughly cleanse an engine is dictated by the amount of deposits present. In most cases the cleansing (conditioning) process is completed somewhere between 1500 & 2000 miles after installing the Powerplus unit. We strongly recommend a complete oil and filter change at 2000 miles.
Note: The cleansing process continues throughout the life of the unit.
| so far so funky - except that these are the same claims made for high performance petrol - which an industry wide study found to be bunk not that long ago - also even if it is true which i doubt there is no way that deposits on a relatively new engine are reducing efficiency by anywhere near that much. | this is the same claim that was made for the magnetic devices - unfortunately it isnt possible to electrochemically alter the structure of petrol - at least not in a device that size , and if you could you would effectively have created rocket fuel which would burn out your eengine in short order - assuming it didnt explode , cars are designed to run on 95 or 97 octane for a reason after all Quote: |

no , im all for increasing your fuel efficiency but IMO this unit will only have a placebo effect at best - ie users may perceive it to be working when it actually isnt
Also noticeable that the how it works section doesnt actually tell you how a unit that size does these things , or what chemicals are involved - like i said puffery

the Red-X additive,called a Stack Unit

BEFORE trying this get Extremely reliable advice from a "Qualified person" | i run my mondeo 1.8 td on 100% biodiesel in summer with almost no performance loss and mix it 50/50 with regular diesel during the winter since bio is prone to 'waxing'.
didnt have to do anything to my engine except a fuel filter change is recommended (although i havnt done that !)
i recommend it to anyone with a diesel car (except those high pressure new ones may need a little more info on those ???) and its currently 88 pence per litre from my local source. |
