| | | Recharging batteries Just recieved an ad via e-mail. For a battery charger that recharges throwaway batteries up to 10 times. This is what is claims ....
" Whether it's your gadgets or the children's toys, we eat up and spit out disposable batteries at an alarming and often infuriating rate. But what if I said you could extend battery life by up to 10 times? With the Deluxe Battery Wizard you can recharge throwaways and rechargeable batteries up to 10 times. "
Surprisingly, it claims to recharge rechargeable batteries up to 10 times. The manufacturers of rechargeables usually claim that they can be recharged 1000 times !
Does anyone have one of these devices?

| | | Re: Recharging batteries Absolute rubbish - I had one, the batteries, although they do take a charge almost discharge immediately especially in flash units.
Far better to invest in some good quality rechargables and a decent charger.

| | | Re: Recharging batteries Actually, I have had one of these alkaline & rechargeable battery chargers for over a year now, it is called the EverCharge. I can honestly say I love this thing. We have 3 computers in our home and all with wireless mice which would go through 2 AA batteries every 30-45 days. We were always buying 12 packs of Duracell plus batteries for many things I guess but what I noticed was my mouse (I love my mouse). Anyway, I kept my stash of 2 sets of batteries for the mouse and I am still using the same 2 sets and that has been over a year.
When they start to fail I just recharge/recondition the pair and use the ones that have already been done. I am noticing that they don't take the charge as well as they used to but I don't know how many times I have recondition them. It does help to leave them in the EverCharge for a full 24 hours, it seems to make them last much longer. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with the product.
I guess Deer Hunter had himself a bad experience with some brand of charger, I just wanted to share my good experience.
I hope this helps Keith

That seems a good endorsement.

| | | Re: Recharging batteries That's OK re-charging if you can call it that for use in a mouse, that takes nil power.
I'm talking about using them in camcorders battery packs, video lights and sound equipment such as radio mic's - they discharge almost instantly.

| | | Re: Recharging batteries We use a 15 min NiMH recharger, costs £40 ish, but works a treat, especially given that Digital cameras usually function better with NiMH than alkalines. we don't therefore see a use for standard battery types at all....... at least not in the AA and AAA sizes.
If you want to save money, and power generation then maybe you should forget these types of battery completely....

Keith. | except that the wwf has been rebranded the worldwide fund for nature since the late nineties , and as far as i know they dont actually endorse specific products.
sounds like a standard spam email , dubious claims galore -
these battery chargers do exist and some of them are okay , but i make it a rule never to buy anything as a result of spam as there is a good chance that they are just phishing for bank / credit card numbers and/or ripping of consumers and disapearing with your cash - even if they are genuine it is good practice not to encourage spam by responding to it as there is too much of it arround as it is
