| | | Red eggs for id please I found these eggs in my compost bin back in November. Could anybody tell me what they are? There are a lot of slugs in there, but I've googled slug eggs and none of the ones that showed up are red!

| | | Re: Red eggs for id please I can't think of anything with red eggs. Indeed, the only red things at this size that spring to mind are various Acari such as 'spider mites'? Otherwise we might be thinking about fungi and slime moulds? |

| | | Re: Red eggs for id please There is a New Zealand Truffle (can`t remember it`s name offhand)that is round and this colour. We find fruiting bodies under Nettle beds. These are obviously much larger than those in the pic. I have no idea about it`s natural history. Maybe some better informed Wabber could discount this or otherwise.
