| | | writhing mass of larvae ID please
I saw this mass of dark brown/grey larvae in the soil on a woodland track yesterday. They were all squirming head down - tail up. After about an hour the majority of them had almost managed to dig themselves into the ground.
Does anyone know what they are the larvae of please?
The best guess I could come up with was some kind of beetle.
Many thanks
