I wondered what this might be and how it was surviving on a sandy cliff with no obvious food source? Very small - 10mmish? Is it possible to say?   |

It looks rather Plume Moth-like to me. It's on a dying plant - any Bindweed or such-like around? |

Looks like Emmelina monodactyla, could have blown from anywhere in the winds we have been having. |

Jason, I don't know how you do it! Above the barren patch where I saw the caterpillar, about a foot up and across a bit, was a sprig of bind weed. Not much, but definitely there! So now I'm off to learn more about Plume moths and bindweed. | | |
