Fox Moth Caterpillar?
This rather wet furry caterpillar was encountered on our ramble yesterday. Is it a second year Fox Moth cateripllar? It looks quite different from the ones I'm seeing all over the moors at themoment.

Its a fox moth, but one of this years. It will overwinter like this then emerge next year.

Thanks Dogghound. Do they have a two year cycle? I thought they did, but maybe not.
