Identify Black tufted caterpillar please

Can anyone identify this. I thought it might be a peacock butterfly, but I've changed my mind.

I've got quite a few of these in my garden & would love to know what they will be.

Looks like a White Peacock butterfly, Anartia jatrophae.

Not very likely! This is a species from the Americas.

Remember seeing lots of the adult in Florida many years back.

That's ok- it's in the same family, so not that surprising the larvae look similar.

You brought back some memories for me anyway!

So do you know what it is as it don't look like a regular peacock.
I think I will leave the IDs to the experts in future..

I think it might be a Red Admiral.

I would tend to agree .Painted Lady is similar,but there don't seem to be that many about this year.

After the event! I thought it was painted lady, but they are similar!
