Puzzle picture - pupa case and seemingly associated exuvia?
Any idea what this is all about?

The two seem to be associated - Northants garden on Hydrangea.

...diameter of the pupa case (measured parallel to opening) is 3mm if that helps any.

The round cocoon has been cut open by a hymenopteran, the exuvia has a hymenoptera looking face but hymenoptera are not exopterygotes so would not emerge like this. Very odd, do you have any other images showing other angles?
