Please can you help? This caterpillar was on my baby's carrier and we don't know what kind it is so cannot feed or release it in the appropriate place!

It looks a bit odd, but I think it's probably a Black Arches, see here - Black Arches Lymantria monacha - UKMoths

Yes, brilliant thank you!! I have looked at the photo on the link and it is definitely right. I spent hours on the internet last night searching and had begun to lose hope so your help is much appreciated!!
