| | | Oak Eggar I found my Oak Eggar caterpillar again yesterday in my tiny garden (or what I like to imagine is the same one I have been seeing for the past couple of months That Oak Eggar). If he is the same one then he has grown since last time and is now 6.5cm long.
I took him in for the night again because I had found him in a tub of water 'swimming' and wanted him to dry out a bit and uncurl himself from the tight ball he was in. He has eaten the brambles I put in with him and now looks nice and 'fluffy' again.
What I want to know is whether he will pupate soon and whether it is safe to pick him up even with his hairy coat. Also about how easy it would be to keep him until he pupates?
Thank you for looking!
