Can anyone help identify it please?
Also your own personal idea whether it is a pest or not.

| | | Re: Larvae ident please I found it below a bush that wasnt doing as well as I had hoped. The area was taken over with ivy. I found it in the soil, close or in to the roots. I have dug the area over to clear the ivy, and I cant find any more. I have dug down a spade depth, 20 cm at least.
I have not found any more (which surprises me) and have had to sift the soil well to remove the ivy.
