| | | yellow and black caterpillar on clover? Please can someone identify the attached? I'm guessing it's a butterfly caterpillar and initially assumed it was that of a common blue but it doesn't look like one from pictures on the internet? Is it a large white caterpillar? Or maybe a moth caterpillar...
Sorry, I might be posting a few things on here for ID, I'm trying to create wildlife records for a site at risk of development.

It looks to me like one of the Burnet moths - possibly 5 spot?

| | | Re: yellow and black caterpillar on clover? Many thanks Tracey, that would explain all the cocoons I saw attached to stems. I googled burnet caterpilars and found a post on here with a very similar picture saying it was specifically a narrow-bordered five-spot burnet. Would that be likely? |

I'm not 100% on which Burnet - but it's possible that it's a narrow-bordered five-spot.
I'm still learning - like many others here - so it might be best to wait for confirmation before settling on the above.
