| | | One of many larvae in occupied Blue Tit boxes This is one of many larvae that a fried found when checking out occupied Blue Tit boxes. Seems strange that these should choose to live in boxed where the would seem to be a source of food for the occupants.
Not a great picture, I cannot get the exposure + colour balance right.
Thanks for any ideas.

The nearest I can get is the brown form of the Angle Shades, possibly an earlier instar. |

I have just looked that up and I see what you mean. However, my 'cat' has a white dashed line running along the centre of its back which does not appear to be a feature of the Gothic.
