| | | Please Identify this Larvae Hi this is my first post on this forum so please treat me gently :-)
I recently replaced some of my turf and dug up several of these Larvae. What I would like to know is what are they and do they damage the lawn.
Thanks |

| | | Re: Please Identify this Larvae Think you're right Deb and they will feed on the grass roots as larvae. Not sure just how much damage they're capable of doing but if one is at all devoted to the cultivation of a billiard table lawn I doubt whether they'd be welcome incumbents. Have a look at this link, Jack.
And welcome by the way

My first thought was Leather Jackets but aren't they a greyish colour, these pupa/Larvae are reddish and the wrong shape. Looking closely there appears to be a spike sticking out of one end |

Just put them back or you can keep one in soil in a jar and see what it turns into.
