| | | Larvae/Caterpillar ID please I am wondering if anyone can tell me what this is please. I found it when clearing some weeds in my flowerbed. I'm not sure if it's a caterpillar or a larva. P1010671_small_edit - Wild About Britain Pics
Thanks

| | | Re: Larvae/Caterpillar ID please It's both! The young stages of very many groups of insects are called larvae (singular is larva). The larvae of butterflies and moths are often called caterpillars. This is the larva or caterpillar of one of the Noctuid group of moths, and it is difficult to be more specific. |

| | | Re: Larvae/Caterpillar ID please Thanks Triops for the information. I was wondering if it is a large yellow underwing caterpillar, but the spots don't look right.
