Early Highland caterpillar

I met this on a forest track in the North Highlands on 28th February. I have posted a rether poor pic in the Gallery.

I have the pic in my Library Images but I cn't seen to get it to add to the thread. How do I do this?

Hi David, welcome to WAB

When you reply to a thread you will see a box on the right hand side under the Smilies.........Library images. Click on that & a little window will open with your photos in. You can then click on the photo you want to add to your thread & that should be it

Thanks for the help. That has worked and the pic has appeared but I'm not sure why its there twice.

Looks rather like the larva of a Garden Tiger to me; this species certainly overwinters in this stage.

Thanks. That would seem to fit. I do see them later un the year but I'm not use to finding Garden Tiger caterpillars in the open at this time in the Highlands or any other caterpillar for that matter.
