| | Speckled wood green cat? Hi all,
this is close to Speckled wood I think, but thats only a wild guess, grateful for any help.
Strange green appendages/growths between legs, something to do with the onset of pupation?
The high winds seem to have blown it out of the Oak tree.
Cheers

| | | Re: Speckled wood green cat? Hi Ken, there was a thread on here recently and the number of legs/prolegs or something indicated a sawfly larva, although I don't know if this is one of those.

| | | Re: Speckled wood green cat? I have been intrigued by this one too and I have looked at loads + loads + loads of photos of caterpillars to see if I can help. So far the nearest I can get is 'the common quaker' which has the oak as a food plant. Have a google on that and see what you think. It is quite similar but ....... I'm not sure. I will keep on looking unless someone comes up with a positive i.d. for you. Don't know about the green blobs though. |
