| | | Green caterpillar for id - please help! We found this green caterpillar or moth larva when it attached itself to my son in a large flowerbed. It was about 25mm long, and has about eight dark green/light green chevrons pointing down its back, but no spike, so we don't think it's a hawkmoth. It has a thin white stripe down its back, and two even finer ones down each side, but no spots. It seems happy to eat nettles, and its colour/markings mean it is particularly well camoflaged under a nettle leaf.
We're new to caterpillar/larva identification, but we've got hooked, and if anyone can help us we'd be very grateful! |
