Completely baffled by this larva!
Hi everyone

This is a little dessicated coconut monster! He's maybe 5mm long, and was happily wandering up the stem of one of my courgette plants back in July. Can anyone confirm what he is?

Its a type of scale insect

It's actually the larva of Scymnus sp, a type of ladybird

Thanks Anders152 - I was prepared for scale insects sucking the life out of my courgettes (aphids beat them to it!), but a strange and unusual ladybird is great! Thanks again!
