Eggs for ID help please.
I saw a few groups of these eggs in a grassy meadow area beside the River Dulnain in the hills west of Carrbridge on Monday. There always seemed to be two groups close together, never just a single group. Anyone got any ideas of what they may be?

They could be cocoons, I assumed eggs because of their size.

Look like some kind of parasitic fly or wasp coccoons, the host caterpillar having died and dropped of the stem
