i found this cat in the south of france last week, i think its a willowhearb hawkmoth but as its not resident to the UK its not in any of my guides, confermation needed,

I would say yes; but only based on this reference: Willowherb Hawk-moth Proserpinus proserpina - UKMoths
Do you remember it having that 'beady eye' on its dorsum?
Anyone else more confident? |
