Larva / pupa in a case - any chance of an ID?

At least I think it's a larva or pupa - I don't want to pick the leaf it's on, or damage it in any way. It is on the underside of a day-lily leaf, and is about one cm long. The only similar pictures in the Gallery is a case moth, but those pictures were taken in Greece.

Its a Bagworm moth, family Psychidae, but I don't know which species. The larva lives in its case, which it carries round, a bit like a terrestrial Caddis larva. If it stays in the same place it has probably fixed its case and has pupated inside it. If male, a winged moth will emerge. If female she will mate by extending her abdomen from the case and never emerge.

It hasnt' moved, so it must be a pupa. I'll keep an eye on it to see if anything hatches.
