| | | Slimy larva ID please I was out walking today and suddenly noticed several of these grubs on my shirt sleeve. They are about 4mm long at most and noticeably slimy. Would they be some sort of sawfly? Sorry don't know what foodplant they would have come off of.
Thanks

| | | Re: Slimy larva ID please Evening Aaron,
When I first saw the photo ( before reading the habitat), I thought about a Clothes Moth, Tineidae. Not sure now, but I'd still most likely have thought a moth and something Case-mining...
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | I do get clothes moths in the house and wouldn't it be ironic if the larvae I found while out in the countryside I had carried there from home
However, don't really think they are clothes moths.
Just out of interest what do you mean by "case-mining"? |

In a round-about kind of way I think I was meaning the Case-bearing type on account of the head-markings, but of course not certain - just suggesting. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
