Black Orange Freckle Caterpillar ID

My mum found this caterpillar crawling up her wall earlier today. After a long trawl across the internet we couldn't find any answers and decided to release him onto a tree without ever knowing what he was. Now that I'm back home and on broadband, maybe you guys can help?

The caterpillar had a long, black body and was covered (but not densely) in ginger fur. He had little white tufts of hair covering his feet, two rows of protrusions on his back and lots of golden-orange freckles on both his sides.

It is the caterpillar of the Drinker moth. It will have to climb down the tree as it feeds on grasses and reeds.

Oh, dear!! I do wish we'd known that - then we could've treated him a little more appropriately for his type. Oh well... I'm sure he'll be okay by himself... thanks for the help!
