urgent cocoon id

helllo.

last year my gooseberry plant got seriosuly munched..

now i can see it's happening again, all leaves are being eaten, i've searched and i can't find any caterpillars, but i ahve found these small brown cocoons..

are these the cuprit and what are they, I don't want to remove them if they are ok





please help

Most likely Gooseberry sawfly did the munching. I can't see the pupa clearly to identify it.

thanks, i thought it might be sawfly, but i couldn't find any pictures to id it. i've look up the pupa and it does indeed look like them. i've removed them all now..
