| | | Caterpillar ID I found this black with orange spots caterpillar amongst the grass on the dune slacks (on the isle of anglesey).
Please could someone help me identify it?

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID Its a butterfly cat, definately a Nymphalid, and I would go with Queen of Spain fritillary. Feeds on Violets, Wild Pansies, borage and Lucerne...but a rare migrant  Only other option would be Camberwell Beauty, but I don't think that that has bred in this country....

Yes it does appear to be a dark green fritillary now I've looked into it!
