Unidentified insect - unsure what exactly.

Edit: Sorry, think this is in the wrong section... Not sure what it is but I don't think it's an egg or a caterpillar.

I must be honest, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this.

I saw this little bug crawling around on a wall earlier on and took a picture hoping that somebody could help me find out what it was.

It is the larva of the Harlequin Ladybird.

Aha, so it WAS the correct section after all! I'm still learning about insects and things but it always amazes me how different things look in their adult and larval forms.

I have a feeling that it might be a Ladybird larvae; and it does seem a bit like a Harlequin Ladybird.

It appears that everyone was typing at the same time. But we all seem to have the same opinion.
