It's a Garden Tiger moth caterpillar Peter and it grows into a beauty Garden Tiger Arctia caja - UKMoths I saw my first ever caterpillar of it yesterday and hopefully will get to see the adult too

Wow - what a beauty  I hope I see the moth too  I note that the caterpillar feeds on various plants so it must have been looking for pastures new The speed it was moving at was tremendous, probably worried about predators.
