Larvae on Wooden Post ID please?

Whilst walking round my garden earlier, I came across this small larvae, which had started to burrow into the wooden post you can see in the picture..

If anyone could identify it that would be fantastic

Tried that, Bethany, alas, it still doesn't help that much. Anyway, it's a tricky one. It's got it's head in the fence post, which makes it even more difficult to tell what it is. I'd say a beetle larva, but, typically, the larger wood munching beetles spend all of their time as larvae in wood.

Even if it's head was visible, it would only be possible to say what order of insects it belongs to. If you happen to see a similar thing again capture it and take some close-up photos.
