Caterpillar ID on Alder Buckthorn
Can anyone help to identify these little chaps eating some Alder Buckthorn.

Must have been a clump of 15 of them.

I think they are sawfly larvae of some sort - I get very similar ones on the roses in my garden.

Also I think your Alder Buckthorn is in fact a species of willow.

The second pictures shows that the plant is a Willow - probably Grey Willow (Salix cinerea).
