Hi Guys.
Found this in the apple orchard, it as a spiral patterned body with tiny red spots, and a barb on it's tail (approx 5cm long)   |

Have a look in the Gallery - section for eggs.larva,caterpillars and search on
hawk moth
there are a few that look similar and you might see which one your's is

It looks as though it has a bluish spike at the rear, so I would go for the caterpillar of the Eyed Hawk Moth - Smerinthus ocellata. Apple is also one of the plants the larvae feed on. |
