| |  Beetle Larvae Identification
My friend found this on his desk, looks like some kind of beetle larvae, at first I thought it was ladybird larva but I have never seen any with the same markings and colour as this one.
Can anyone help identify it? |

I am fairly sure it is a ladybird larva. They vary in colour depending on which kind of ladybird it is. Yours looks like a 10 spot ladybird larva.
I am by no means an expert and hopefully someone else will come along to help.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick response!
I forgot to mention, it also had a long hair like spike protruding from the back end ... you can see a bit of it in the picture, I have never seen this before in ladybird larvae. Are you sure it is a 2 spot? |

It's definitely one of the Adalia sp. - either 2-spot or 10-spot (though I'm thinking 2-spot   ).
I'm not sure what you mean by a spike? |
