Yet another caterpillar ID question

Sorry, if this has been posted before



I saw this very small green caterpillar (about 1 cm) in a flower bed that was soon to be dug up.
Any idea what it might be? What it might feed on? And as it's August is it too late to pupate?

I wouldn't like to make a guess based on the photo, although it looks like one of the Noctuid moths.

With regards to pupation (and foodplant), it depends on what it is. August is not too late for pupation - some species will over winter as pupa and hatch next year.

Some caterpillars you can get from fuzzy photos, others you can't - there are a lot of small green ones!
