Spotted these caterpillars today in Lancing, W Sussex - any help with ID would be appreciated. Been through the books several times without any luck. Thanks in advance!  |

Thanks Charlie - I gave The Lackey I good look but discounted it because the markings aren't as bold as the pictures suggest, esp on ukmoths - also a lack of red. Do they vary? |

Yes, different instars, just shed skin etc. - also nothing else has that patterning  |
