| | Help me please I wonder if all you knowledgeable people can help me,
I was pruning my Kilmarnock Willow and i have found what appears to be three different types of caterpillars. Can you tell me if they are Moths or Butterflies.
1. has a black body with a yellow stripe down its back and what appears to be a lump thing sticking out of its back just down from its head it is lso very hairy.
2. they are very green with a red/white stripe down its back quite smooth looking.
3. is very similar looking to no. 2 though is orange in appearance and its stripe is a burnt orange colour.
i have attached some photos.
Thank you for your help

| | | Re: Help me please Your lumpy one, no. 1, is a Grey Dagger moth ( Acronicta psi). The other two are hoverfly larvae - no idea what sort though | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
