please identify.....?
anyone know what this caterpillar is/becomes?



my kids say it looks like 'The Hungry Caterpillar', lol

Sorry it's poor quality (must get better camera)

It's not a great picture () - it looks like a sawfly.

thanks.........................but

It would seem sawfly larvae are quite small (15mm)?

these are at least 40mm and (as i just found out) excrete/squirt (yes squirt!!) a sweet smelling fluid when disturbed?

They are hundreds of species of sawfly, and the larvae are very variable in appearance and size - if you can get a better photo it'd help.
