| | | Re: Hairy Caterpillar for ID please Yes it was very large approx 3" and attached to the stalk, but seemed dead, I wondered if it had begun to pupate(?) but had died in the process.

| | | Re: Hairy Caterpillar for ID please Looks like it maybe a failed moult? It's in the wrong position for pupating - Lasiocampids tend to bury themselves amongst vegetation rather than suspending themselves. It's position does look purposeful (  ) though... maybe it's been parasitized? |
