Hi Charlieb, thanks for the ID! I also have some Comma pics and was wondering, why does the latin name have 'c-' as the prefix to the species? |

Sorry Charlieb still a little lost. I was referring to the 'c-nigrum' bit, I dont understand why the nigrum is prefixed with a 'c' and a hyphen |

Sorry, I thought you meant the 'c' in Polygonia c-album (Comma) 
I am only guessing, but nigrum means black, so c-nigrum might refer to the black c-like character on the forewings (the common name of Setaceous Hebrew Character refers to the same markings, but likens them to the Hebrew letter Nun instead) |
