| | | Help IDing caterpillar plz This little guy fell into one of my bug traps I put in the greenhouse maybe about a week ago, all thats in there(the greenhouse) is a dying pepper plant, some cacti,a young avacado tree/plant and some small fungi that just appeared once the tomato plants were finished.
I put him on a leaf snapped off the pepper plant, and thought nothing of it until I was putting the bins out a day or two later and noticed what at first appeared to be a slug (it was wet and very dark), but seemed too uniform a shape so I looked closer and it was, presumably, the same caterpillar.
I checked out all the pics on whatsthiscaterpillar and none seem quite right, neither did any on the first 10 pages on here either.
Any thoughts ?
I brought the leaf in with me when I brought him inside to take some pics, and he started eating it within a few mins, but the one I found in the greenhouse ate some of the pepper leaf before it moved on, so I'm at a loss to what it normally eats.

| | | Re: Help IDing caterpillar plz Brilliant thanks Dogghound...that definitely the one now I can google the name and compare pics...lol
The one on whatsthiscaterpillar seems to be the opposite of what mine showed, ie mine is dark with light dashes along its back, the one on there is lighter with dark dashes.
Hopefuly the next caterpillar I find won't be so awkward, and won't be brown either 'coz there's soo many on there that are brown its hard (being a novice) to distinguish between them. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
