| | | Spider, Caterpillar & Fly/Wasp ID Hi folks,
having just come back from a week in Cornwall, I've been going through the photos and there are a couple of critters that I can't ID; I'm hoping someone on here might be able to enlighten me. My best guess is that the spider is Araneus didematus in one of its many guises. The winged insects look like hoverflies to me, but I've been unable to ID the species from the books I have and websites I've found. Finally, I don't have a clue what the caterpillar is! We were out-and-about around St. Ives & Penzance, if that helps.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, as always
Cheers,
Marc.

| | | Re: Spider, Caterpillar & Fly/Wasp ID Fly 1 + 2 are both Eristalis hoverflies (droneflies), think the first is E. arbustorum.
Caterpillar 1 is Garden Tiger + 2 looks like White Ermine |
