[ID] Sawfly Larva

Hi WAB'ers,

A sawfly larvae for ID please!

Seen last month. They've since dissapeared, along with most leaves... (I only mean on the bush they were on...)

I take it this is a Rose. Unfortunately there are lots of sawflies on rose, but I think this is one of the ones gardeners don't like: Arge ochropus. Note that there are two colour patterns: one with dark head and true legs, the other with pale head and true legs. A. ochropus does change like this from one instar to the next (I've just looked it up).

A. pagana is the other possibility, but I don't have the distinctions immediately to hand.

OK, thanks Posch. A rose it is then. It hasn't flowered as yet and isn't intentionally there, I don't think. It's still growing.
