Photographed Sunday 21 Sept near Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Total length approx 1.25 inches.
Found on 'green waste' bin after filling with cuttings of Sweet Pea, Californian Violet, Heebie, and Cotoneaster (may have been present on either of these).

| | | Re: I.D. Help on this Caterpillar please? It lacks the two spurs at the end of its body? also its head is the wrong shape and colour. Biston betularia is polyphagus so is also likely to be found on these plants, and at this stage at this date. |
