| | | Caterpillar ID Please Please can anyone ID this caterpillar. I found it on the South Downs near Brighton last week and it's been puzzling me since. Link
Many thanks! |

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID Please Do you get Yellow bear moths in the UK? I thought they were American?
I would say its a muslin moth, due to the shot from the front it makes it look like its got denser hair which is misleading. |

Sorry, you are right, it is American, my mistake
How about Buff Ermine Moth as another (UK) possibility? |

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID Please Possibly although a buff ermine is a little darker than the one in the photo, its a funny angled photo to ID from. |

| | | Re: Caterpillar ID Please Thanks for the replies. I've checked if I've got any other images. If found this one http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/pi...1/25080806.jpg
which might help the identification.
Cheers.

For future reference, its best to put images for ID in the "Archive" not the " Gallery".
