Considering the large numbers of Comma butterflies I've seem in recent years I'm surprised that I've not come across this caterpillar before - but I'll know in future  .

| | | Re: Unidentified spiny caterpillar - black, orange and white Its often mistaken for a bird dropping bruce. Most of these caterpillars will be turning to chrysali in these next few weeks so they can hibernate as adults. Ive seen afew fresh adults today. |
