| | 2 Caterpillars ID 1) I found this caterpillar a few days ago. It was bright green and fat!
it looked a lot like this

2) I found this caterpillar back at the beginning of MARCH on a nettle at local nature reserve. I never IDed it. |

well - the first is a hawkmoth 
The second looks like an Angle Shades Moth

| | | Re: 2 Caterpillars ID On Tuesday, my 9 year old Son found this Hawkmoth Caterpillar in the middle of a playing field and brought it home. Today, while we were out. These egg-shaped excretions have appeared. 
Could anybody shed any light onto what these things are? Please? |

they are the pupae of a type of parasitic fly/wasp. The larvae feed on the insides the hawkmoth caterpillar and when fully grown they emerge to form the pupae on the outside of the skin as in your photo.
